Meet Martin Hehman, Principal of St. Helens Virtual Academy, a dedicated education professional with a rich and diverse background in the St. Helens School District. With an impressive 21-year tenure within the district, Martin has consistently demonstrated his commitment to fostering an inclusive and innovative learning environment.

Martin's journey with St. Helens School District started in 2002 as a Special Education Teacher, where he honed his skills in creating tailored learning experiences for students with diverse needs. His passion for inclusive education and student success led him to spend the last three years as an instructional coach, where he shared his expertise and supported district teams.

Throughout his career, Martin has played a pivotal role in advancing various educational initiatives within the St. Helens School District. His extensive experience includes supporting district teams involved in AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), Conscience Discipline, MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports), RTI (Response to Intervention), SPR&I (Systems Performance Review and Improvement), Curriculum Material Adoption, Extended Assessment, and Assistive Technology implementation.

Martin's leadership extends beyond the traditional classroom setting, showcasing his commitment to holistic education and systemic improvement. As Principal of St. Helens Virtual Academy, he brings a wealth of knowledge and a forward-thinking approach to the virtual learning landscape.
