Enrollment at St. Helens Virtual Academy
St. Helens Virtual Academy (SHVA) is open to all students living within the St. Helens School District. If your family is interested in having your student attend SHVA, please complete the Interest Form, which can be found on our website. This form helps us keep track of when requests are submitted and may be used to manage a waitlist if needed.
SHVA staff will begin processing transfers in August, so we encourage families to complete the form early to express interest and secure a spot in line.

Transfer Process
After you submit the Interest Form, someone from SHVA—such as a counselor, registrar, or the principal—will reach out to talk through the next steps, answer questions, and gather important information.
If your student has a 504 plan or an Individualized Education Program (IEP), we’ll schedule an Abbreviated School Day Program (ASDP) meeting with the appropriate staff member before the transfer is finalized.
Once these steps are complete and parent consent is received, SHVA staff will work directly with your student’s current school to manage the official transfer. Families will be informed of important dates, including the student’s last day at their current school, first day at SHVA, and class schedule.
Teachers will also reach out with welcome messages, course details, and contact information before your student begins.
This same process applies to students who are new to the district, with added support to ensure a smooth transition.
